About Deerfield Behavioral Health

Deerfield Behavioral Health (DBH) was incorporated as a Pennsylvania non-profit company on July 15, 1991. At the time of incorporation, its purpose was to provide behavioral health care network services including development of community based behavioral health service programs and continuums of care on behalf of its member-shareholders; provision of direct clinical services in collaboration with its member-shareholders; and provision of consulting and development services in the behavioral health field. Its bylaws required that all member-shareholders be designated as not-for-profit 510 (c)(3) tax-exempt organizations.

The original members of DBH were several hospitals in Western Pennsylvania who provided behavioral health inpatient and outpatient services as part of their offerings. The bylaws were revised April 19, 2002, to allow affiliate members defined as “social service organizations providing behavioral health services yet are not hospitals”.  At that time, DBH joined Journey Health System. Deerfield Behavioral Health provides behavioral health care along with the Deerfield Center for Addiction Treatment at several locations in Pennsylvania. DBH employs clinicians including psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed social workers and other professionals. DBH is also engaged in consulting work with other entities that proved behavioral health services. To learn more about us, visit our website.
